Overwhelmed

As a senior in college, these first few weeks have been hectic. Between my work and school schedule, I have been exhausted. However, I was able to keep calm under the pressure by doing these few things:
- Counting to 10 — This helped me clear out the information from my brain after leaving a classroom. By releasing all of that information throughout the day, it keeps me focused on my tasks for each class.
- Finding a nice, quiet and hidden spot away from everyone. Maybe being in crowded places makes you feel like you’re under a microscope. Therefore, find a place where you don’t feel anxious. For example, I sit in the booths under the staircase, or may sit in my car.
- Using my breaks to actually take a break — Most times people utilize the breaks in their day to catch up on work, run errands, etc. Well, STOP! Use those breaks, big or small, to relax and kick your feet up.
Remember: Stress doesn’t have to be constant, especially since what seems to be big at the time ends up being really small.
